With Granny1 (94) and Granny2 (87) both in nursing homes, I'm seeing more than my fair share of these institutions. Can't help noticing that most of the clients are women. And inevitably, the regime and the programmes are geared up for the interests and pastimes of old ladies.
Makes you think, God help me if I ever have to resort to one of these places, I'd lose the will to live pretty fast. Much as that might suit any surviving relatives, I 'm thinking there must be a better solution for us aging chaps.
Well, I've thought of it. I'm thinking of starting a chain of Nursing Pubs. Comfortable rooms, all barmaids qualified nurses, dartboards set low enough to reach from the wheelchair - you get the picture? All I need is some starting capital.
